Vocal workflow

Song-aware vocal preparation for performers who are tired of guesswork.

PlayR Smart Vocal and Auto Gain help singers prepare reverb, delay and starting gain settings with supported Behringer X-Air XR-series, Midas MR-series and Behringer FLOW 8 mixers.

Why this matters on stage

PlayR is being built around the reality of live performance: less juggling, clearer preparation and a more repeatable show workflow.

  • Smart Vocal can analyse the setlist and prepare song-specific vocal FX suggestions for supported mixers.
  • Auto Vocal Gain helps establish a sensible starting gain on a supported mixer from the singer’s actual live voice.
  • The aim is a practical live workflow, not a one-size-fits-all preset.
  • Especially useful for performers covering very different song styles in one set.

Supported mixer requirement

The mixer-integrated vocal functions on this page are currently designed for Behringer X-Air XR12, XR16 and XR18, Midas MR12 and MR18, and the Behringer FLOW 8. A supported mixer is required for PlayR to set gain or apply the designed reverb/delay and related mixer settings automatically.

This requirement applies to the mixer-control features, not to PlayR as a whole. Backing-track playback, multitracks, Show Mode, MIDI, lighting automation, video/CDG, notes, LUFS workflow and Intermission Music remain part of PlayR without one of these mixers.

How it fits inside PlayR

This is not a separate product. It is part of the wider PlayR system for live performers, alongside Show Mode, notes, playlist preparation, video/CDG support and the broader song-by-song workflow.
