1. Purchase routes
PlayR is a one-time-purchase live-performance application with different purchase routes depending on platform. Direct Windows, macOS and Android licences are supplied by PlayR through Lemon Squeezy. The iPhone/iPad edition is distributed separately through Apple's App Store.
2. Direct PlayR licence options
- PlayR Android: one named customer, one active Android device.
- PlayR Desktop: Windows and macOS for one named customer, with up to two active desktop devices.
- PlayR Full: Windows, macOS and Android for one named customer, with up to three active devices in any supported combination.
The public direct editions include a 10-day trial. A direct PlayR licence permits use of the software but does not transfer ownership of PlayR or its source code.
3. iPhone and iPad
The iPhone/iPad edition has its own 10-day trial and one-time App Store unlock. Purchase, restoration and eligible device installation are handled through Apple's App Store systems and are subject to Apple's applicable terms. A PlayR Full or PlayR Desktop licence key does not unlock the App Store edition.
4. Acceptable use
You must not distribute licence keys, sell access to your activated licence, remove ownership notices or use PlayR to infringe the rights of others. Nothing in these terms prevents actions that applicable law or an open-source licence expressly permits.
5. Your media
You remain responsible for the audio, video, lyrics, graphics, MIDI data and other material you load into PlayR. PlayR does not grant rights to use third-party music or media publicly.
6. Backups and live performance
You are responsible for maintaining backups of show files, media, playlists, Intermission playlists and automation, plus a suitable fallback playback method. Do not keep the only copy of important show data on one device.
7. Third-party components
PlayR uses third-party components including JUCE and dynamically linked FFmpeg libraries. Those components remain subject to their respective licences and notices. Applicable third-party information is included with the software or made available through PlayR's legal information.
8. Payments and consumer rights
Direct Windows, macOS and Android sales are handled by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy handles direct checkout, applicable taxes, receipts and the payment transaction. iPhone/iPad purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. The relevant checkout provider's terms, together with any mandatory consumer rights that apply in your country, apply to the purchase. Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Availability and pricing
Prices and launch offers shown on the PlayR website may change. The price displayed at the relevant checkout before you confirm the purchase is the price that applies to that transaction. PlayR Desktop is available as a normal Windows/macOS purchase. During the launch offer, qualifying existing iPhone/iPad or Android owners may contact PlayR with proof of purchase to request a promotional discount code reducing the Desktop price. Eligibility must be verified before a code is issued, and promotional codes may be subject to availability or expiry.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PlayR is provided without a promise that every third-party file, device or live setup will operate without interruption. Nothing excludes liability where exclusion is prohibited by law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to mandatory consumer protections that apply in the customer’s country.
